Miradors de l’Horta

Bringing together design and creativity, we activate an alternative and didactic way of raising awareness in school children about the importance of cultivated areas, as well as the relationship between people, food and agricultural heritage.

Design as a reflective tool to preserve the Valencian Horta (cultivated areas near the city)

Miradors de l’Horta is the first design and culture festival in l’Horta that focused on sustainable development and the relationship between agricultural and urban territories.

Through design, the project makes citizens aware of the need to preserve cultivated areas. A meeting and participation opportunity to discuss the future of valencian horta, to discuss about food, health, well-being, local market and gastronomy.

Education and action focusing on food and our agricultural heritage

One of Trampolín’s lines of work is to collaborate with society in participatory experiences, in order to raise awareness of the opportunities of design as a tool for change.

Within the Miradors de l’Horta festival, we created a collaboration and learning space in Bonrepòs i Mirambell, together with Sembra en Saó, an association focused on creating organic cultivated areas and on preserving l’Horta.

We developed cooperative work sessions around design and agriculture, with the participation of schoolchildren. The workshops allowed us to bring them closer to creativity in an educational and free way, through alternative perspectives that helped us understand our vital relationship with this agricultural heritage.
